Season 4 of 13 Reasons Why will be available on Netflix on Friday, June 5th at 9:01 a.m. Filming for this season began when season 3 was released last August. Thus, the new episodes will be released less than a year after the previous one. This is quite rare for a series. Unfortunately for the fans, this will also be the last season of the controversial series produced by Netflix. Here is the teaser for the most impatient :The teaser of 13 Reasons Why Brief summary of the previous seasonsThe first season was centered on Hannah Baker and the reasons that pushed her to suicide. A quest for meaning in the form of audio tapes left with her classmates. The second season dealt with mourning, the difficulties of dealing with emotions in the face of such a terrible tragedy, especially at such an early age. It also helps to develop the psychology of the characters. The third season, which aired last summer, is a police investigation. Bryce was found murdered and, in view of his cruelty, the suspects are numerous. Last season announced, why? Indeed, the series hits the charts so it is legitimate to ask why stop at 4 seasons, while many other series only stop at the decline in ratings. Executive producer Brian Yorkey answers the question, and in season 2, the writers realized that he had the space to develop many subjects such as suicide, rape, homosexuality and especially school harassment. That’s why they decided to do four seasons, following the evolution of the main characters in their high school years. According to Yorkey, high school series lose quality and credibility when the characters go to college. It was important for the production to tell the protagonists’ story about this period of their lives and conclude by letting them start a new chapter.

What you can expect from season 4The final of season 3 left us with a lot of questions. We find out that it was Zach who murdered Bryce in revenge for his leg injury. Ani makes up a story to make Monty feel guilty for the murder, already in jail for Tyler’s murder where he gets killed. First thing we know for sure is that if Zach and Monty appear, it will be in the form of flashbacks. Having not seen a flashback of Hannah in the previous season, we also doubt that she will appear in this season. Scenario level, obviously in the background of solving Bryce’s murder, too many clues come to the surface to leave this part of the story as it is. For the rest, the mystery remains intact but we can guess that the themes will be the passage to adulthood, doubt about the future, career choice. These are classic themes for all high school students around the world in their final year. Our opinion on the seriesWe cannot begin to give an opinion without underlining the controversies that this series may have generated. First of all, Hannah’s suicide, shown on screen in a rather aesthetic way, shocked more than one association blaming the creators for weakening the most vulnerable people in the audience. Netflix even ended up suppressing the scene, finding the objections legitimate. Then, in the second season, Tyler is raped and shows up at school armed with an assault rifle. When you know American history, the subject is more than delicate! You’ll understand, we’re divided! This series is very well done and tackles crucial subjects with honesty and without false pretences. The young actors in the cast are all very talented. That being said, 13 Reasons Why is for us reserved for a very discerning audience in view of the effect that the series can have on some people. It’s a good thing that it’s available on a platform like Netflix and not on a public television channel. Find our selection of films and series
